Starting in 2023, PVPDC began holding non-shooting, training days on Saturdays before our fun runs. These training days are particularly useful for young dogs that need bird exposure without gunfire and pressure.

Typically, PVPDC members set up a number of “stations” where your young dog encounters a bird (generally a planted pigeon). For some dogs that are ready for gunfire, club volunteers may use a blank pistol off in the distance if your dog appears ready for gunfire. The cost for participating in these training days is $15.00.
