Monthly Fun Runs

DSC_0354.JPG

From April to August, PVPDC offers monthly Fun Runs. These are non-competitive (no pressure) field trials where you can put your pointing dog to work finding birds during the hunting “off-season.” PVPDC members who field trial can also use these trials to polish their dogs or introduce their young dogs to timed “braces” where the goal is to find and point birds.

These runs are also used by new(er) club members as a testing ground to determine if they want to pursue competitive field trialing. Many PVPDC members use these fun runs as a steppingstone to more competitive field trial opportunities. The PVPDC supports and encourages its members in those endeavors. The cost of participating in these fun runs is $30.

Picking up Birds

When picking up birds please contact either the President or Vice President for more information.

You'll need a tarp to wrap the birds in transit to prevent your vehicle from getting covered in their waste. When you get them home put them somewhere safe like a shed or up on saw horses to prevent predators from getting them.

Give each crate water and 1/4 of a watermelon to keep them hydrated and fed.

Crate Dimensions

23”wide
38”long
10”tall
